What Is a Slot?

A slot is a space in the DOM that can be filled with custom markup. It is a subset of the sl> element, which is part of the Web Components technology suite. Its function is similar to that of an HTML widget, but its attributes and functionality are more extensive.

In modern slot games, random number generators (RNG) generate a sequence of numbers for each spin. This sequence is mapped to symbols on the reels, which then display those symbols to players.
